How do I make sure my belongings are covered in case of damage? Great question. We offer two types of coverage: basic protection, which is included at no additional cost and provides limited coverage based on item weight, and full value protection, which offers higher coverage based on the value you declare. If you're moving high-value or fragile items, we recommend discussing these options with our team in advance so you can choose the level of coverage that makes you feel most secure.

Do you use your own staff or temporary labor? We use trained team members who are dependable, and dedicated to quality service.

What should I keep with me on moving day? Pack essentials like medications, chargers, important documents, clothes, and valuables in a personal bag or box that travels with you.

Do I need to empty my dresser drawers? Clothing and soft items can stay in drawers. Please remove anything heavy or breakable. Keep in mind that we may need to turn, flip or tilt furniture in order to carry or pack into the truck properly.

How do I prepare appliances for the move? Make sure appliances are emptied and disconnected before our crew arrives. Movers do not disconnect gas, water, or electric lines.

Can the movers arrange furniture in my new home? Yes. Our team is happy to place your furniture where you'd like. A plan in advance helps things go more smoothly.

What happens if something is damaged? Although rare, if damage occurs, we’ll document it on-site and follow up quickly to resolve it with care.

What forms of payment do you accept? We accept major credit cards, debit cards, certified checks, and cash (U.S. currency).

Do you charge hidden fees? No. We’re upfront and transparent. Your estimate covers all standard services.

Do I need to tip the movers? Tipping is never required, but always appreciated. Feel free to tip based on your experience with the crew.

Terms & Conditions

All Distance Movers wants to ensure that you make an informed decision regarding the coverage of your goods during your relocation. On the day of your move, before your move commences, you will need to select one of the valuation options on the Bill of Lading and complete the Declaration of Items of Extraordinary Value. Please take the time to review your options so that you can make a decision that will provide you with peace of mind on moving day.

Option A: Declared Value As a licensed common carrier, All Distance Movers is required to accept a minimal amount of liability for your goods while they are in our custody. There is no charge for this option however our maximum legal liability for loss or damage is an amount equal to $0.60 per pound per article. For example, if a chair weighs ten pounds and it is damaged or lost during the move, the shipper is entitled to a maximum of $6.00 of compensation.

Option B: Transit Damage Protection (TDP) This option provides the customer with coverage for loss or damage up to $500.00 with no deductible. All Distance Mover’s liability beyond the first $500.00 of loss or damage is limited to $0.60 per pound per article and the cost of this coverage is $75.00.

Option C: Actual Cash Value (ACV) This option requires you to declare the value of the entire shipment. If All Distance Movers is responsible for any loss or damage during your move then the value of the property lost or damaged will be the least of the following amounts:

  • The actual cash value of that property immediately before the loss

  • The cost of reasonably restoring that property to its condition immediately before the loss

  • The cost of replacing that property with substantially identical property.

You must provide an accurate value of the entire shipment or you will incur a co-insurance penalty (payment in the event of damage would be limited to the ratio of declared value of the shipment to the actual value of the shipment). Please note that depreciation is applied to the value of goods under the ACV option.
